Collection: Computer Cases

Your PC case is more than an aesthetic shell—it dictates component clearance, thermal dissipation, cable routing ease, and acoustic performance. Cramming hot modern GPUs and high-wattage CPUs into a restrictive glass box will throttle your clocks and spin case fans up to jet-engine levels. High-performance builds demand unobstructed mesh front intakes, robust radiator clearance, and sensible layout ergonomics.

Explore our curated PC chassis collection, ranging from high-airflow mid-towers in our Corsair Cases and Antec Cases ranges to innovative dual-chamber panoramic designs in Deepcool Cases. Whether you need an expansive E-ATX workstation chassis, a clean compact build, or dedicated vertical GPU brackets, every case is backed by local warranty support and dispatched fast from Australian warehouses.

Which computer case do you actually need?

Most PC builders get into trouble by choosing a computer case on looks, then finding out it fights their GPU, cooler or radiator. What changes between tiers is mostly structure, airflow design and build tolerances, not raw cooling magic.

Entry-level cases, usually under about $120, tend to use thinner steel (around 0.5 to 0.6mm), one or two included fans and a basic front panel. Many have a solid or semi-perforated front that chokes intake airflow, so a hot GPU and CPU pull from a restricted opening. They work fine for a mid-range card and a modest CPU, but cable routing space is tight and panels can flex or resonate.

The sweet spot sits roughly between $140 and $250. You get a properly open mesh front, three or four decent fans, tool-less panels, thicker steel, a front USB-C port, dust filters and room for a 280mm or 360mm radiator. Examples include the Lian Li Lancool 216, Fractal Design North, Corsair 4000D Airflow and Phanteks Eclipse G360A. Airflow is where the money matters most here, because open mesh area and fan static pressure decide how well air gets through filters and past a hot GPU.

Enthusiast cases (above about $300) bring aluminium panels, dual-chamber layouts, support for 420mm radiators, pre-installed premium fans and tighter fit and finish. Those are real improvements for noise, build quality and flexibility, but the thermal gain over a good sweet-spot mesh case is often only a few degrees. That is where diminishing returns kick in.

Upgrading and technical nuances

Check the platform before the case. Current Motherboards for AM5 and LGA1851 come in ATX, micro-ATX and mini-ITX, and the case must support your form factor. Some also use back-connector designs (ASUS BTF, MSI Project Zero, Gigabyte Stealth) that move power and header connections to the rear. They give a cleaner look, but they need a case with matching cutouts, so a standard case may not work.

Modern Graphics Cards / GPU are the biggest compatibility trap. Many high-end cards run past 330mm, use 3 to 3.5 slots and put the 12V-2x6 connector on the side edge. That connector needs a gentle bend radius, so you want roughly 35mm of clearance between the card and the side panel. Tight glass panels in compact cases can force a sharp bend, which risks poor contact and heat at the plug.

Fan design matters as much as fan count. Fluid dynamic bearing fans (Arctic P12/P14, Noctua NF-A12x25) stay quieter over years than cheap sleeve bearings, which can develop a rattle once the lubricant dries. High static pressure fans push through mesh and radiators, while high airflow fans suit open intake. If your case ships with weak fans, upgrading from Fans, Heatsinks & Cooling is one of the cheapest improvements you can make.

For radiators, a 240mm AIO such as the Arctic Liquid Freezer line suits most mainstream CPUs & Processors, while a 360mm helps with sustained all-core loads on high-end chips. Many builders are fine with a big air cooler like the Thermalright Peerless Assassin, which also leaves the front or top mounts free for airflow. Browse CPU Cooling once you know your case limits.

Dual-chamber cases like the Lian Li O11 series or Hyte Y60 look great and have lots of mounting options, but they often run hotter in the GPU zone when the glass sits close to the fans. Mesh-front designs like the Fractal Torrent or Montech Air 903 Max suit people chasing temperatures over aesthetics.

Practical things to check before buying

Start with measurements. Compare these against the case specs:

Maximum CPU cooler height. The Peerless Assassin is about 155mm, so you want a case rated for 160mm or more. Small cases often fall short.

Maximum GPU length and thickness, with front fans or a radiator installed. The listed number is often with the front fans removed.

Top radiator clearance. A 360mm AIO with fans can collide with tall heatspreaders on Desktop Memory and VRM heatsinks. Low-profile modules help, and most DDR5 kits like Corsair Vengeance or Kingston Fury run fine if you check height.

PSU length and shroud space. Power Supplies vary in depth, so read the case spec before buying. If you want ATX 3.1 with a native 12V-2x6 cable, browse ATX Power Supply and pick a reputable unit such as a Seasonic Focus or Corsair RMx. Modular cables are shorter in compact cases, so check the length. Sleeved or custom runs from Cables & Connectors can tidy things up.

Storage and I/O. Most M.2 Solid State Drives (SSD) go on the board, so you often only need one or two 2.5-inch spots, if any. Check the front panel's USB-C header against your board. A case with a 20Gbps USB-C front port needs a matching header, otherwise it sits there doing nothing.

Practical stuff: dust filters you can remove without unscrewing everything, glass panels with proper packaging, and a width that fits your desk. If your desk is small, a tower that suits a Monitors setup matters. If you would rather skip the compatibility puzzle, a pre-built from Computers takes care of fitment for you.

Brands and local warranty

Established names in computer cases include Corsair, Fractal Design, Lian Li, NZXT, Phanteks, Cooler Master, be quiet!, Antec, Thermaltake and Montech. Fractal and be quiet! lean quiet and refined, Lian Li and Hyte focus on design and modular layouts, and Montech and Antec punch above their price on airflow.

Local warranty matters more than most people think. Cases can arrive with bent frames, scratched or cracked glass, or missing screws, and replacing those parts through an Australian supplier is far easier than posting a large box overseas. Australian Consumer Law protects you either way, but a local retailer with brand support handles returns, replacement fans and spare panels quickly. Keep your invoice and original packaging for the first few weeks.

Frequently asked questions

How big a computer case do I need?

Mid-tower ATX suits most builds and gives the best balance of space and airflow. Go smaller only if you want a compact setup and have checked GPU length, cooler height and PSU size. Full towers are worth it for large radiators and extra drives.

Is airflow or silence more important in a computer case?

You can usually have both with a mesh front and decent fans, because the fans can spin slower. Sound-dampened cases with solid fronts run hotter and louder under load, so for gaming, favour airflow.

Will any computer case fit my GPU and cooler?

No. Always check the maximum GPU length (with front fans or radiators fitted), GPU thickness, cooler height and the 12V-2x6 side clearance. Spec sheets are accurate, so compare them with your parts first.

Are tempered glass panels worth it?

If you want to show off your build, yes. Glass looks great but traps some heat and noise compared with mesh, and it needs careful handling. A mesh side panel option is better for hot components.

Do I need to replace the fans that come with my case?

Not always. Sweet-spot cases often include good fans. Budget cases may include noisy ones, and replacing them is cheap. Match the pressure and airflow style to your mounting spots.
